Company Philosophy

As a forerunner of a new generation of airfreight service providers, GLOBAL CARGO MANAGEMENT GmbH (GCM) with its head office in Munich is exploring new ways in the air cargo sector. We do understand ourselves not only as a simple service provider, but as a Partner of our customers. We are able to manage the most difficult missions for you. Efficient service and the highest degree of flexibility are most important to us according to our Motto: JUST AS BEFORE.

Created in autumn 2003 by a group of experienced people, GCM is a young company. We have however managed already to firmly establish ourselves as provider of logistic services. This is certainly also related to our core competence, namely the transportation of high value cars throughout the world.

Our Philosophy is simple: as an "All-in-one-Service" we provide you economic advantages versus your competitors. As a private company we are independent from large groups or passive shareholders and we are therefore able to focus our attention on the requirements of our customers. Through our Lean Management we avoid unnecessary bureaucratic burdens.

We offer our customers 24 hours a day an attractive price-service mix which is furthermore combined with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.

Profile

The ideal location of our head office at the Munich International Airport offers optimal working conditions. Based on our comprehensive knowledge we offer our customers assistance either as General Sales Agent for airfreight sales or as broker for the organisation of charter flights.

Our large competence does enable us to act as exclusive representative agent on behalf of airlines or on behalf of freight airlines and combination carriers to run the marketing, the organisation and the operation of airfreight sales in the most flexible way. We do offer logistic, organisational as well as advisory services.

Airfreight sales and representation services can be offered to cover the whole of Germany or, if desired, can be limited to the southern German area. Especially the areas of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg (Stuttgart area) have a strong economic power and consequently do have very high requirements in terms of import and export capacity. Moreover the countries of Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic are part of Munich International Airport's catchment area and can therefore be ideally covered by GCM.

Besides the extensive range of professional services, GCM is offering a performant structure to enable airlines to establish a strong and permanent commercial presence on the airfreight market in Munich and the surrounding regions. Furthermore we also assist our business partners locally to arrange airfreight capacity on passenger and cargo flights to and from Munich International Airport.

Besides its strength on the local and regional markets, our company is focusing its attention increasingly on the development of long-term relations with new customers and cooperation partners. In this context, the aim of GCM is not only to satisfy the individual requirements of our customers but also to convince the customers with a high degree of quality.

With its experienced and dedicated staff coming from the air-freight logistics community, GCM is ready to meet customer requirements on short- or long-term assignments be it:

Location

Munich Airport
Munich International Airport, today, is the second largest airport in Germany with continuous growth rates in passenger and cargo traffic. With a modern terminal infrastructure and two 4 km runways, allowing for a capacity of more than 90 movements an hour, Munich is gearing up for further rapid expansion of both passenger & cargo traffic. In 2004, a total of 310.000,00 tons of air freight were handled at Munich International Airport. A modern cargo terminal enables efficient aircraft and warehouse handling, as well as adequate treatment of off-size cargo, perishables, live animals, dangerous goods, etc. Munich's cargo terminal offers short airside and landside distances and has direct connections to both the highway system and to the railway network. Extensive trucking services are offered from Munich. Around 100 airlines are operating to/from Munich International Airport and some 90 forwarding agents are represented including Germany's top twenty IATA agencies, specialized forwarders, large trucking companies etc.
